6th Annual World Rivers Day on September 26
World Rivers Day takes place on the last Sunday of September and is a global celebration of the natural, cultural, recreational and economic values of our waterways.
Our rivers help to sustain us all and contribute greatly to the quality of life we all enjoy. That certainly becomes readily apparent to any who travel along the Danube River, or any of the other great rivers around the world. This year, millions of people in dozens of countries will be participating in Rivers Day activities - that take place annually since 2005 - and for those of you who would like to find out more information, they can go to www.worldriversday.bcit.ca.
On this day, it's our hope that people around the world will take a moment to reflect on just how important our rivers are, as well as give thought to how we can better care for them.
